| Vaniqa Additional information |
| About Vaniqa |
Vaniqa is a medication applied to the skin for the reduction of unwanted facial hair (usually in women). Vaniqua does not remove hair permanently or prevent facial hair growth. The treatment program should include continued use of whatever hair-removal method you were using.
Vaniqua works by interfering with an enzyme that is found in the hair follicle and is necessary for hair growth. This results in slower hair growth and improved appearance where Vaniqua was applied.
|
| Proper Vaniqa Usage |
Follow the instructions included in the package and the directions given by your physicain. Vaniqa is usually to be used twice daily, at least 8 hours apart. External use only. Apply a thin layer of Vaniqa to the affected areas of the face and closest involved areas under the chin. Rub in thoroughly. Do not wash the are for at least 4 hours after application. You may use your normal cosmetics or sunscreen after applying Vaniqa, but you should wait a few minutes to allow the treatment to be absorbed before applying them.
Continue using your usual hair-removal method. After a period of using Vaniqa you may have less hair to remove or you may need to remove it less frequently.
|
| Proper Vaniqa Storage |
Vaniqa should be stored at 15ºC-30ºC (59ºF -86ºF). Do not freeze.
|
| Missed Vaniqa Dosge |
If you forget or miss a dose of Vaniqa, do not try to make up for it; just return to your normal application schedule as soon as possible.
|
| Vaniqa's Side Effects |
Possible side effects of Vaniqua include temporary redness, rash, burning, stinging or tingling, especially when the skin is damaged. If irritation persists, discontinue use and consult a physicain.
Avoid getting Vaniqua in your eyes or inside your nose or mouth. If it gets in your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water and contact a physicain.
|
| Drug Interactions with Vaniqa |
There are no reported drug interactions, but you should tell your physicain before using Vaniqa if you are using any prescription medicines, non-prescription medicines, or any facial or skin creams.
|
| Vaniqa Warnings |
Vaniqa should not be used in people less than 12 years old. Vaniqa also contains ceteareth-20, cetearyl alcohol, dimethicone, glyceryl stearate, methylparaben, mineral oil, PEG-bO stearate, phenoxyethanol, propylparaben, stearyl alcohol and water. If you are allergic to any of the ingredients, tell your physicain.
The safety of Vaniqa for pregnant women has not been established. If you are pregnant or want to become pregnant, and are considering using Vaniqua, consult a physicain.
