| About Flonase |
Flonase is a nasal corticosteroid used to relieve allergic symptoms such as itching, runny nose, postnasal drip, nasal congestion, and sneezing. It works directly on nasal tissue to reduce swelling and inflammation.
|
| Proper Flonase Usage |
Make sure you understand how to use the nasal spray properly: ask your physicain or pharmacist to show you how to use the pump and nasal adapter.
Shake the bottle gently before each use. Pump the spray 3 or 4 times before the first use of the Flonase unit.
Do not use more than two Flonase sprays in each nostril daily. It may take a few days before the benefits of the medication are noticed. Use this medication exactly as prescribed.
|
| Proper Flonase Storage |
Store at room temp. away from sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.

| Flonase's Side Effects |
Side effects of Flonase may include nose bleeding, blood in nasal mucus, or nasal burning or irritation. Less common or rare side effects are headache, sneezing, runny nose, nasal dryness, congestion, or stomach upset. If you experience a side effect that persists or becomes bothersome, inform your physicain.
In the unlikely event that you experience vision problems, headache, increased thirst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea, or dizziness, consult with a physicain immediately.
In the very unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention.
Long-term use of nasal steroids may cause fungal infections of the nose or throat. Inform your physicain if you develop an infection.
|
| Drug Interactions with Flonase |
Tell your physicain or pharmacist about any other drugs you may be using, especially of other nasal products (such as cold products), other corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), and antibiotics.
The use of other steroids (in oral or inhaled form) may increase the chance of side effects or overdose.
