Soma is a centrally-acting skeletal muscle relaxant that is generally used for pain relief, treatment of injuries, and other painful muscular conditions. It is typically used to supplement rest and physical therapy. Soma is manufactured by the Medpointe company, and works by blocking the pain nerve impulses as they travel to the brain, thus resulting in an analgesic effect and muscle relaxation. The drug is sold in 250 mg and 350 mg tablets for oral administration, and the recommended dosage is 250 mg thrice daily for two to three weeks.
